Birthdays
Birthdays are a special occasion at Brownies. To
celebrate our Birthdays, we have a ceremonial cake that is
brought out for us to blow out the candles and make our
wish. We also have a real Birthday cake which is a chocolate
cake. This is cut into pieces so that all of the Brownies
and helpers can have a piece. The recipe for this cake can
be found at the following link: Brownie Cake

Best Six
Competition
Every term we have a competition to see which Six is the
best. This competition is base on points awarded for
attendance, badges, behaviour, attendance at Church Parade
etc. Brown Owl has a list of how many points each activity
is worth. We never have points deducted (unless someone is
really bad! Then it might happen). At the end of each term,
Brown Owl will let us know who has won. Each member of that
Six is given a prize.

Brownie
Holiday Club 1999
On August 17th and 18th we held our annual "Brownie
Holiday Club" when the Brownies meet together for two full
days of activities (from 9.30am to 5.00pm). We are able to
spend lots of time concentrating on arts and craft work.
This year a number of girls passed their Artist, Craft and
Collectors badges. We are also able to cook our own lunch
and tea and all of the Brownies attending are able to gain
either stage I or stage II of their Cooks badge. We also
have plenty of time for lots of fun and games. I would like
to thank everyone who helped us run the Brownies Holiday
Club and make it such an enjoyable time for the girls.

Harvest Festival -
26th September 1999
Harvest Festival is a Family Service at our Church and is
accompanied by a Church Parade. It was the first Church
Parade that our new Minister has held at our church. Most of
the Brownies were able to attend as we paraded our colours
down the Aisle to the Alter.

First Safety Badge - 13th
October 1999
This is a 4 week course and is attended by 12 Brownies at
a time. The course takes place at the local Fire Station
and, after the complete 4 weeks, I would hope that each
Brownie would be able to pass this very valuable badge.

Visit
to The Guide Heritage Centre - Saturday 8th July 2000
Every couple of years I try to get the pack along to the Heritage
Centre. The girls really enjoy finding out about Guiding through the
ages and they all have a good time. Even those girls who have been
before enjoy a second visit. Having visited the shop, we walk around
the front of Buckingham Palace before having an ice cream and heading
home.

Brownie
Holiday Club - Wed/Thurs 30th & 31st August 2000
The Holiday Club is a time of fun for all. This pack does not take
the girls on a pack holiday. Instead we have two complete days at our
normal meeting place where we work for badges, do all of our own
cooking and generally have a very good time. This is always a very well
supported event.

Brownie
Christmas Fair - 9th December 2000
An excellent opportunity to buy those Christmas Presents
and help a worthy cause. Last time, in 1998, we were able to
donate £400 to the Royal Marsden Childrens' Cancer
Unit.
